One-On-One Tutoring Services | West Chester, PA

One-on-one tutoring is a powerful tool in developing the reading and spelling skills of a child. Giving a child one’s full attention is effective in creating positive habits.

At Reading with Results, we provide students with one-on-one tutoring at least twice a week. This provides the tutor and student time to identify weaknesses and develop skills.

Maintaining this structure and schedule allows students to build skills of consistency and commitment. One-on-one tutoring creates a powerful and beneficial dynamic between the tutor and student.

Our Tutoring Methods

We use the Barton Reading and Spelling Program–a direct, structured literacy methodology consistent with Orton-Gillingham. It is proven to increase reading accuracy, fluency, and comprehension.

What to expect when enrolling:

• At least two, 50-minute sessions per week.

• Multisensory – students manipulate colorful tiles that represent different sounds and parts of words.

• Explicit – all rules and the exceptions to the rules are taught and students are given opportunity to master these skills

• Simultaneous and Systematic – The skills and concepts are taught in an order that makes sense to the student. We connect logic with learning.

• Assessment- We ensure mastery before moving on to the next level

• Neurodiversity – we focus on the right-brain strengths of dyslexic students and encourage them in those areas thereby increasing their confidence and self-esteem.
